As our name implies, Ability Orthopedics is in the business of rebuilding lives. Whether you have lost a limb through trauma or planned amputation, need orthotics, orthopedic braces, diabetic footwear or compression hosiery to improve mobility, we are here to help you
reclaim your life.

Our professional staff includes a Certified Prosthetist and Orthotist, as well as a trained technical support team. We have four offices to serve western North Carolina, and we provide service to many hospitals, nursing homes and clinics. Our on-call practitioner is available for hospital and other emergency needs.
Prosthetics

Ability Orthopedics uses state-of-the-art, computer-aided design and the newest technology to offer a wide range of artificial limb designs and components for lower and upper extremities. Our facility in Hickory maintains an on-site fabrication laboratory.

Orthotics

We offer a variety of lower and upper extremity orthotics, diabetic foot care,  fracture bracing and scoliosis bracing. On-site fabrication gives our practitioners complete control over the design, fabrication and fitting process.

Compression Hosiery

Compression stockings help prevent leg swelling and, to a lesser extent, blood clots. Recommended for varicose veins, spider veins and for patients who have just had surgery. Certified lymphedema and compression hosiery fitter on staff.
